Where is Manali?

Manali is a resort town in the valley of Kullu in Himachal Pradesh. It is situated at an altitude of 2,050 meters above the sea level and enjoys pristine snowfalls in winter. Manali was named after the saint Manu, who is fabled to have resurrected mankind when a devastating flood destroyed everything. It was known as "Manu-Alaya" meaning home to the saint Manu, hence the name Manali.
